What is Virtual EMDR?
To help families throughout Cheshire break the cycle of domestic abuse, MyCWA is offering those affected by domestic abuse and relationship trauma access to Virtual EMDR Eye Movement Therapy.
Virtual EMDR is an easy-to-use, self-guided online program that guides users through their EMDR session without needing a therapist to be present.
The program can be used to work through Trauma and PTSD, Anxiety, Grief, and Depression symptoms often experienced through living with domestic and relationship abuse trauma.
Backed by extensive scientific research, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a revolutionary mental health treatment approach used by millions of people to address PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Addictions, and other conditions.
By simulating the natural action of memory processing through eye movements and bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps people to access and “re-process” their traumatic memories, core beliefs, and overwhelming or unwanted emotions.
EMDR has been extensively researched and has been consistently shown to deliver lasting results faster than comparable treatments. Many people report significant improvement – and even full remission of symptoms – after 4 to 12 sessions of EMDR.
EMDR helps with emotions stemming traumatic memories or distressing experiences such as those occurring with domestic and relationship abuse trauma.
EMDR is widely used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), trauma, depression, grief and loss, phobias, anxiety, and panic disorders. It is also used to treat anger and overwhelming emotions, addictions, compulsive behaviors, and self-esteem disorders.
Backed by extensive scientific research, EMDR Therapy is recognised worldwide and recommended by organizations including:
